The platform allows you to connect artisanal fishermen with consumers that are searching for seafood 100% fresh, 100% legal and that come directly from the places that they were extracted.
The activity took place in the well-known restaurant “Ocean Pacific” in Barrio Brasil and was attended by the Undersecretary of Fisheries Alicia Gallardo; the Seremi of Economy of the Metropolitan Region, Magnolia Saavedra and the Director of Sernatur RM, Alejandra Bravo.
Frescapesca.com works with Shellcatch technology that assures the traceability of their products through the scanning of a QR code that allows visibility of the fishing trips on the cellphones of the final consumers.
Gabriel Reyes, Business Development of Shellcatch who is operating Frescapesca.com in Chile, pointed out that “the platform works through a system that allows fishermen to sell seafood directly to different suppliers such as supermarkets, open markets, restaurants, among others, reducing intermediaries and providing tools to improve sales prices and supporting those who every day extract resources from the coves of our country”
These initiatives continue in line with the commitment of the Seremi de Economía RM with the economic reactivation of the country and –in this case– with the reactivation linked to sustainability and commitment to our ocean resources.
